We fondly call it “Swedish Bitters Mud,” but it is really “Gold,” as it is much more concentrated and effective than the regular Swedish Bitters liquid.
It is made from the super-saturated, rich herbal pulp, which is left over after we macerate and then strain the 11 herbs that make up the Swedish Bitters liquid.
It is perfect for compresses and poultices, as it is nutrient-dense, and works much more quickly than the liquid Swedish Bitters.
Maria Treben never went to the trouble to make this as it was just too costly, and too inconvenient to produce, unless you made your living and were in the business of producing Swedish Bitters on a large scale
